Wonderful World of Meeroos®

Everyone loves their frightfully cute RooU's, and at this time of year dressing them up is more fun than you can shake a broom-stick at! To help you gear up for costume greatness, we're having a Spook-tacular Special Vendor Fair!!

Oh no! Our helper roos seemed to dropped our candy filled pumpkins all over the grid this year when we asked them to help us decorate, those silly roos!

If you'd like to help us recover all of our missing pumpkins, we're willing to reward you with a prize!

We're having a grid wide Pumpkin Hunt October 1-31 2013. The fun starts @ ROO where you pick up your cauldron before starting your journey to recover our lost candy filled pumpkins. Once you finish discovering them all you return to ROO to collect your prize!

After arriving on the Isle of Meeroo origin, I hadn't had long to explore before I realized there was something very different going on here. First was the sudden plethora of collections of this and that that the Diurnal Meeroos were coming up with as they roamed the island. That put my thoughts in the direction of getting the Meeroo's that had traveled with me settled into their own spaces so I could observe what else they might find on this enchanted isle, and that's when I noticed that the Nocturnals that had arrived with us were nowhere to be seen.

Thank you all for coming out and making our Talk Like A Pirate day parties amazing! Despite first mate Tiger somehow managing to not only sink our ship but also set it on fire, we were still able to get 24 treasure chests off of it in time for pirate trivia! We hope you all enjoy your Pollys! There were soooo many beautiful costumes there, which made choosing the top pirate costume even harder! It is no wonder our first party had a tie for best costume.

Well, mateys do we have some news for ya! Hoist up yer sails, straighten yer eye patches, lock up yer booty and sail on down to ROO on SEPTEMBER 19th 2013 for arr first ever Talk Like A Pirate Day party! We will be havin' a special surprise guest during arr Pirate Trivia, Polly The Pirate! And don't ya be forgettin' to join our Pirate Costume Contest! We'll be expecting ya salty dogs to dust off yer finest pantaloons, polish yer buckles and remember to have yer weekly bath.(whether ye need it or not!) The winner will be going home with a chest full of L$1500 gold coins! Abandon all hope, ye who attends this pirate party!

Calling all you Freakish Fashionistas out there! Do you love your RooU avatar? Even more, do you love dressing them up and are a creative member of our community?! Think you could put your mind behind some knock-out ideas for RooU costumes for Halloween?

Now that the dust has settled, I finally got a chance to meet up with Jeff Kremer at Big Cat Rescue and deliver him a nice donation to help out all the amazing animals!

It should come as no surprise to you all that cats hold a special place in the hearts of most of us on the Meeroos team. It should be even less of a surprise that our very own Mr. Tiger loves them even more than most! That is why this year in honor of his birthday we have decided to host a fundraiser event for one of his favorite cat rescue groups, Big Cat Rescue.

Big Cat Rescue works very hard to take care of neglected, abused and abandoned big cats. 100% of their donations go directly to the care of their cats and to help stop abuse. Located in Tampa, Fl they have built a big cat sanctuary giving these cute creatures more space to roam then their abusers offered.

We decided to focus on one of their rescues named Amazing Grace. She is an ocelot who was saved in 1996 by BCR. We will have ocelot statues and a paint set available during the fundraiser to help raise awareness to their cause as well as raise much needed funds to keep these cats cared for and safe. We will be having a party to end our fundraising event this Friday with trivia and BCR inspired items. The event will last a week and 100% of the purchases and donations made directly to the specially marked vendors will go to Big Cat Rescue at the end of the event. It's probably no secret that we here at Meeroos are big animal fans. You kind of have to be to work with these amazing little creatures day in and day out and still be passionate about sharing them with the rest of the world! Everything from our personal RL pets ( Parrots to Horses to Kittens and more), to the majestic animals of the world.
