I love the way my meeroos behave differently depending on what personality they are, how some even seems to be a bit different within personlities. The petting gives me opportunities to study my meeroos and others.
I like not knowing how it works. I like being surrounded by little notes with the data about my meeroos and others I've seen, trying to find that elusive pattern I know is there. If I don't find it I have to learn more. I look up animal coats, how they are inherited and the genetics behind them. Since I lack experience in breeding I'm trying to be careful about not drawing too much conclusions about things to fast.
When someone gets a new species, coat or trait, I am eager to find out where it came from and what it looks like. Of course if it comes from breeding it means lots more clues than if it came from a pack. But they will all have offspring and those will say something about what genetics is in the parent.
This - and of course that they are so cute - is what made me want to breed meeroos. I've never wanted to have a breedable in SL before.
I am so far quite impressed with the way Malevay handles most things. It is obvious they want to listen to customers and adjust the workings when needed.
I just hope they don't get overwhelmed by all the hysteria from those that wants a completely different game. I will not apologize for using the word hysteria. There are some with suggestions I agree with or don't agree with that present their ideas without screaming about the death of meeroos and markets and falling skies. It's not them I'm talking about.
There were never any starter coats or traits. We were never promised there would be. The only thing that was there was a promise that anything that come out of a box can be bred. If there will be changes in the future as rumors claim Catherine has stated in group chat, then I hope that will be announced officially. It has been clear since the first koi came out of a box how this works. To listen to the same hysteria every time a new species turns up really spoils a lot of the fun.
I have bought some boxes since the start, but never found anything exciting in one. I have found exciting things in breeding, but then maybe my expectations aren't as high as some.
There is one thing about uncommon coats and traits that is certain. If they are easy to breed they aren't uncommon for long and no one is going to pay for them.
All this talk about fairness, how it's unfair that you can buy a box and find rare meeroos in it seems to be loudest in the group with very high regards. I don't see how you can have regards that high unless you have bought meeroos to release. How is that more fair?
I don't really care either way, we all do this the way we want. But the game is what it is, and to demand it's all changed into something completely different - I even saw someone suggest a petition for just that today - is hardly fair to those of us that enjoy it as it is. And I think there are many of us.
