Eating Problem Determination

Tad Carlucci's picture

In the interest of determining if there is a problem with the rate at which Meeroos eat: more data is required.

PLEASE USE THE FOLLOWING FORMAT AND BE AS ACCURATE AS POSSIBLE.

DO NOT FOLLOW-UP ON THIS THREAD.

If you wish to discuss the problem, use the existing discussion thread.

If you believe you are having issues with the rate at which your Meeroos are eating, please post a filled-out copy of the form below, then post another filled-out copy as close to 24 hours later as possible. If you feel the problem is continuing, fill out additional copies every 24 hours.

When posting follow-up copies, please find your previous posting and use the Reply link to assist in finding your previous reports.

The form:
==============================================
Subject:

Date and Time (SLT) YYYY-MM-DD:

Region Name or Code-name:

Simulator Version:

Does more than one Fellowship use this region:

Can you personally control all Meeroos on this region:

Total number of Meeroos you control on this region:

Total number of nibbles you control on this region:

Are there any overly-hungry Meeroos present:

How many nibbles did you put out since your last report:

==============================================

Notes on each line:

---

For each post, set the subject to the region name (or your codename for it) and date. For example, for today's report on my region, I would use: Bayou Firefly 2011-10-21

---

Date and Time:

ONLY USE Second Life Time (SLT), which is US Pacific (PSTPDT) or more properly UDT-0900. Use the format YYYY-MM-DD just as in the Subject line.

---

Region Name:

If you wish to maintain privacy, use a code-name instead of the real name. For example, I would use my region's codename: Bayou Firefly

---

Simulator Version:

Include the full version line from Help/About. This appears on the line following your region's IP address. For example, for my region: Second Life Server 11.10.07.242626

---

Does more than one Fellowship use this region:

Yes, or no.

---
Can you personally control all Meeroos on this region:

Please: just yes or no. If you consider all Meeroos 'yours' because they belong to alternate avatars or a significant other, answer yes. Use this rule: if a CSR asked could you Rebuild all the Meeroos on the region, could you, even if that means relogging? If so, answer yes, otherwise answer no.

---

Total number of Meeroos you control on this region:

Include all Meeroos. Do not include nests or Mee-Pets. Please COUNT each time, do not estimate and never trust your memory. I suggest using Phoenix Area Search to get a quick, accurate count.

---

Total number of nibbles you control on this region:

Total the counts from all bowls you control.

---

Are there any overly-hungry Meeroos present:

Yes or no. Scan your Meeroos looking for darker/redder floating text. Do you see any red or showing hunger less than 96%?

---

How many nibbles did you put out since your last report:

If this is your first report answer 'n/a'. I suggest keeping a notecard, Post-It note or some other record of the number of nibbles in each bowl put out, and the date/time it was put out.

----------------------------------------

The intention of this form is to document the consumption rate. To do that, you need at least two reports. The first establishes the starting point. The second shows if the living Meeroo population changed and the number of nibbles consumed.

While accuracy is important, it can be hard to attain. This is especially true if you're constantly coaxing nests, releasing elders, buying, selling, trading or simply moving stock around. These errors, however, can be handled by keeping long-term records and posting several follow-up reports.

While I wish there were a simple answer to the question of whether some Meeroos are eating more than they should, the only answer at this point is to collect more data.
